Why it exists

Why Salah Now

Prayer is a moment to step away from the noise. Many apps built around it have grown busier over time — more to sign into, more to notice, more happening quietly in the background.

Salah Now was made for the opposite reason. It does a few things with care — accurate times, an honest Qibla, the Qur’an in Arabic, gentle reminders, and a private record kept only for you — and then it steps back. The calm is the point.

Thirty seconds of the app

Thirty seconds of the app. Silent, and hosted here — nothing is loaded from anywhere else.

Now

Quietly knowing where you are in the day

Open the app and the current prayer is simply there — its name, how long it has been, and what comes next. The arc of the day rests above it, calm and unhurried.

No setup and no noise. Just the time, the prayer, and room to breathe.

Qibla

A direction you can trust

The Qibla is drawn from a verified location fix, and the app tells you plainly when the reading is steady. It stays honest about accuracy, and never guesses.

Compass trusted — hold the phone flat and turn until the arrow points straight up.

The Qibla screen: a calm compass pointing toward the Qibla direction, marked 103 degrees

Record

A record for reflection, not performance

Mark prayers for yourself and look back gently over the weeks and months. Nothing here is gamified or shared — it is a private record, kept only for you.

Quietly looking back — nothing is shared, nothing is ranked, nothing is measured against anyone.

The Qur’an

The complete Arabic text, carried with you

All 114 surahs and 6,236 verses, on your phone — no download, no connection, nothing to sign into. Four typefaces to read in, your place kept for you, and every ayah marked with the true rosette.

Tanzil’s Uthmani edition, verified character by character against its published source.

The Qur’an reader open at Al-Faatiha, showing all seven verses in vocalised Arabic, each closed with an ayah rosette

Reminders

On time, and then silent

Reminders arrive calmly when a prayer begins, and then they leave you alone. No guilt and no pressure — only a gentle nudge you can shape to suit you.

Prayer times

Twelve calculation methods, both Asr opinions, and sunrise — so you can see when Fajr’s window closes. Worked out on your phone, adjustable minute by minute to match your masjid, and on your home screen as a widget with a live countdown.

Gentle reminders

Before a prayer, when it begins, and before Fajr ends at sunrise — sound or vibration only, and you choose which prayers. A daily Quran reminder after Maghrib, if you want one. Your phone’s own notification sound, never one we chose for you.

Honest Qibla

A direction taken from a verified fix, corrected for magnetic declination — and it points only when the reading can be trusted.
